Hedrick Wisecarver Obituary

Hedrick “Junior” Wisecarver, 80, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday Oct. 6, 2022, at his residence. Junior was born on Sept. 10, 1942, in Greene County, Tenn., to the late Mary Lou Derry Wisecarver Sparks and Hedrick Hooper Wisecarver Sr. He was a retired foreman for Daniel Construction at Hoechst Celanese plant. He was an avid gardener and a hard worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Thelma Wisecarver; sons, Brian Wisecarver, Byron ”Monty” Wisecarver, Matt Wisecarver; brothers, Jack Wisecarver, Fred Wisecarver; sister, Janice Wisecarver Stroud. Those left behind to cherish his memory, brother, Clyde Wisecarver of Wilmington; grandchildren, Adam Wisecarver, Brittney Wisecarver Young (Preston), Callie Wisecarver; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lynne Wisecarver; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements: A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Cleveland City Cemetery on Cemetery Street Cleveland, NC with Pastor Preston Young to officiate service. Lyerly Funeral Home is assisting the Wisecarver family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.lyerlyfuneralhome.com.
