Helen Deal Obituary
MOORESVILLE - Mrs. Helen Garver Deal of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at her son's residence.
Born on Dec. 4, 1927 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Lon and Nannie Litaker Garver. Earlier in life, she was a member of First United Church of Christ in Landis, later she became a member of Unity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Deal was a graduate of Landis High School and Evans Business College. Earlier in life, she worked for Cannon Mills and then at Cabarrus Bank, where she was a secretary. Later she earned her LPN license and owned and operated Deal Care Inn in Mooresville with her husband until 2007.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Deal in 2007.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy D. Megargel of Surf City, N.J. and Eric Deal and his wife, Toni, of Mooresville. She is also survived by a brother Bobby Garver and his wife, Corky, of China Grove, and grandchildren Derek and Kevin Megargel and Houston Deal.
Visitation and Services: Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with services on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Whittington, minister. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove St. Salisbury, NC 28144 and Unity United Methodist Church 8605 Unity Church Rd. Kannapolis, NC 28081.

My hearts goes out to Cathy and Eric. You both had a beautiful mother inside and out. She loved her children so much. I remember as a small child spending lot of fun trips to the beach with the Deal family. I always loved her Red Velvet cake. She was a sweet caring friend of my mother [Helen] also she will have a special memory in my heart forever. God Bless this family at this time of sorrow. Love you all Marilyn

So sorry to read this. I loved Mrs. Helen like a grandmother. She was a TOUGH, Strong, LOVING person who worried more about others than she did herself. Truly lost a great woman.
