Helen Nash Obituary

Helen Brown Small Nash, 83, of Morganton, NC passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Kingston Residence in Hickory, NC.

Born in Rowan County, NC on January 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Helen Elizabeth Brown Small and Everette P. Small.

She was a graduate of Boyden High School. Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her two daughters. She loved traveling with family, particularly Out West and to the beach. She also had a passion for collecting antiques. She loved getting together with her family whenever possible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott Turnmyre.

She is survived by her husband, John Lee Nash; daughters, Lisa Nash Turnmyre of Hickory, NC and Kelly Nash of Morganton, NC; brother, Joe Small and wife Barbara of Greensboro, NC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Sam and Joan Nash of Salisbury, NC; and two grandchildren, Lauren Turnmyre Soots and husband Alex Soots of Hudson, NC and Megan Turnmyre of Hickory, NC.

A Private Family Only Graveside Service will be held Wednesday (Nov 15) at Rowan Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Assure the Future 300 Enola Road Morganton, NC 28655. These contributions will go to J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center to a fund that supports all residents in need.
