Jeffrey Blalock Obituary
He was born May 28, 1959, in Salisbury, the son of the late Edgar Jerome Blalock, Sr., and Nancy Green Blalock. Jeff was a 1977 graduate of East Rowan High School and received degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He worked in maintenance throughout his career and retired from NGK Ceramics in 2024. Jeff was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, where he was active with the Men's Sunday School Class and served on various committees, including the security team. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and particularly liked rabbit hunting, fishing, and golfing. Jeff was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his son, Jamey, play ball over the years; he also enjoyed rooting for the NC State Wolfpack and Boston Red Sox. Jeff was always a dog person, and loved his beagles. But, when he finally allowed Jarrett to get a cat, then two cats, he loved them, too, and really enjoyed watching how much joy they brought to Jarrett. Jeff had a wide circle of friends who he enjoyed spending time with and will be remembered for having the biggest and kindest heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Jerome "Jerry" Blalock, Jr.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julie McCombs Blalock, who he married May 1, 1982; sons, Jarrett "Link" Blalock and Jameson "Jamey" Blalock (Nanci); his first grandson that is expected soon and whom he was very excited about; sister, Barbara Eidson (Wayne);and brother, Malcolm Blalock (Janice).
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, September 18, from 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, at the church, with the Rev. Richard Myers officiating.
