Joseph V. Eagle

1935 - 2021

Joseph V. Eagle, Sr., 86, passed away on November 15, 2021. He was born in Salisbury, NC on March 26, 1935. Joe was educated in Salisbury City Schools and graduated from Boyden High School in 1953. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Sherry Fink Eagle. They were married for 66 years. Also surviving are Joe, Jr (Jennifer) and Russell (Sharon). They have four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Joe worked for Southern Railway and Trexler Transfer before a 42 year career with J.H. Cook & Sons of Granite Quarry, NC where he was a sales representative. He transferred to Greenville, SC in 1956 and to Atlanta in 1960. He retired in 1997 and moved to Gainesville, GA. Joe was a sports fanatic and followed the Atlanta Braves and his beloved Georgia BullDawgs. He spent much of his younger years coaching at Midway Park in Dekalb County when his sons were younger. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing into his 80's. Joe loved landscaping and spent most of his time in his yard after retirement. He was a member of Redwine United Methodist Church. There will be no service at his request.
