Joseph Christian Peeler

SALISBURY - Joseph Christian Peeler, 29, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at his residence.

Born Aug. 12, 1985, in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Trudy E. Myers Peeler and Gregory M. Peeler, both of Charlotte.

Joseph was a 2004 graduate of South Mecklenburg High School and a NC Scholar graduate. He had worked as a chef at Appalachian State University Broyhill Center and was a member of Forest Hill Church in Charlotte. Joseph also attended UNCC and CPCC where he studied electronics.

Joseph was loved and cherished by his family and many friends. He loved animals and had a variety of pets. Cats and dogs were some of his favorites. He loved to cook for his family, especially on holidays.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Pastor Joshua M. Peeler of Fordoche, La., and G. Michael Peeler Jr. of Charlotte; maternal grandmother Nancy B. Myers of Albemarle; uncles Winn Myers and wife Jan of Richfield, Winston Peeler of Salisbury; aunts Carol Offi and husband Bruce of Indian Land, S.C.; cousins Andrianne Moore of Waco, Texas, Shon Barrier of High Point, Ryan Barrier of Charlotte and Jason and Seth Myers of Albemarle; and godparents Millie and Richard Little.

Visitation: 12-1:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at St. Luke's Reformed Church, 1775 St. Luke's Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.

Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at St. Luke's Reformed Church with the Rev. Jon Schell and Pastor Joshua Peeler officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
