Kathleen Daniel

CHINA GROVE - Kathleen Daniel, 100, of China Grove, born July 16, 1908, in Madison County, Ga., went to be with her Lord Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, after many years in the nursing home.

The daughter of Tombs Daniel and Delree Carrithers Daniel, she was loved dearly by her family and friends. She was a loving person who will not be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Harry White, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Katherine Lyerly; sisters Lucille Allen, Margaret Daniel and Hazel Reynolds; and brothers Granval Daniel and William Daniel.

Kathleen came to Kannapolis in her teens to go to work in Cannon Mills and remained there until her retirement. She attended Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church before her illness. She celebrated her 100th birthday in July, surrounded by her loved ones and everybody sharing their memories of all the joy and love she brought to her family.

Kathleen's family includes grandson Chris Lyerly, whom she loved very much; two great-grandsons, Chris and Christian; sisters Jewel Campbell and Ruth Fortson of China Grove; brothers Jay Walter Daniel and wife Retha of Florida, Mauldin Daniel and wife Gladys of Kannapolis; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Service and Visitation: Funeral services will be conducted in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, Building Fund, 1008 Moose Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083

Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory, Kannapolis is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank Transitional Health Services for their care of Kathleen for the time she was there.
