Larry Blake Obituary
SALISBURY - Larry Clayton Blake, 66, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father and PopPop.
Born Nov. 25, 1944, in Greenbrier County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thelma Hammond Blake and Clayton Blake.
A graduate of Kenwood Senior High School in Maryland, Mr. Blake was employed by Wal-Mart as a greeter. Earlier in life, he owned and operated a taxi cab business in Baltimore County, Md.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Wayne, Safret and Dallas Blake.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Wilhelm Blake, whom he married Nov. 5, 1997; son John Wacker (Betty) of Salisbury; daughters Anna Wacker of Baltimore, Md., Christine Wacker of Salisbury, Kelly Krejci and Denise Shachelford, both of Baltimore, Md.; sister Dorma Lee Stewart, of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren Leea Krejci, Kylie Shachelford, Kaila Wacker, Josh Wacker, Shea and Scott Butterfield; and his best friend, G. Wayne Hendrix.
Visitation and Service: A visitation and celebration of his life will be from 3 p.m. until on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Antonio's Bar & Grill (formerly Don's Bar & Grill), 3750 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury. Inurnment will be in Maryland at a later date.
Memorials: Rowan Relay For Life, c/o Frances Morris, 1103 Burkesway Drive, Salisbury, NC 28146.
The family extends a special thank you to the ICU staff at Rowan Regional Medical Center for their kindness and care given to Larry during his stay.

Sorry to hear about Larry. I knew him from Wal*Mart. I also worked there. My condolences go out to his wife and family. He will be sadly missed.

God Bless Mildred and the children and all just saw Larry recently at Walmart and Millie at the poker run, my heart goes out to all of the family and friends you are in my heart and prayers~ we love you all!
