Louise Hartzoge Obituary
SALISBURY - Louise Victoria Boggs Hartzoge, 84, of Olney, Md., and formerly of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Genesis Layhill Center, Silver Spring, Md.
Born May 26, 1927, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late E.D. and Sallie Gentry Boggs. She was educated in the East Spencer schools and graduated from East Spencer High School. She played on the girls basketball team where she served as Captain.
Mrs. Hartzoge was employed by Rowan Manufacturing and Laguna Sportswear before she retired.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salisbury and Kings Daughters Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Russell Hartzoge, Sr., on Feb. 12, 1998; and her brothers and sisters, Minnie, Sarah, Vesta, Ethel, Bud, Leroy, Charlie and James.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Glenn R. Hartzoge, Jr. and wife Paula of Olney, Md., Conrad Stephen Hartzoge and wife Trisha of Granbury, Tex., and Timothy Hartzoge and wife Marsha of China Grove; grandchildren Theresa Lewis and Rex Hartzoge of Olney, Md.; and great-grandchildren Chase, Dylan, Samuel, Savannah and Riley.
Services: Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday (May 12) at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Snipes officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Summersett Funeral Home.
Memorials: May be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220; or American Cancer Society, Rowan Relay For Life, c/o Frances Morris, 1103 Burkesway Drive, Salisbury, NC 28146

Tim, Our mothers shared some good times at the Yadkin House. Mom would miss your mom when she went to visit one of your brothers, I believe. They were such good friends and now they are together again with Jesus in heaven. We also have the hope of seeing them again, because of our sin debt that Jesus paid on the cross. I know Louise would want me to tell you that God can turn your mourning into Joy (Jeremiah 31:13b) May God give you peace during this difficult time.

Tim I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to you and all your family. Not sure if you remember me from Hurley elemenatary school,and we were in classes together. I worked with your mom for a short while at Rownan Manufacturing and she was a pleasure to be around, a very compasonite lady with a beautiful smile. She was a caring supervisor to me and all who knew her.

Tim and Marsha, I am so sorry about Louise, working for her those many years was a pleasure. She was a fine lady in every way. I will not be able to be there Saturday because I will be out of town for the day, but you and the rest of the family will be in my prayers.
