Marla Lowery

1948 - 2022

Marla Eller Lowery, age 74, passed away on Oct. 31, 2022 at her residence in Spencer. Marla was born on Aug. 14, 1948 in Rowan County to the late John Joseph Eller and the late Juanita Goodman Cranfield. She was a graduate of East Rowan High School and a graduate of Pfeiffer College. She retired from being a Field Representative with Census Bureau with the Government, after 35 years of service, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Marla was a member of the Rowan County Red Hats. She loved her family, especially her husband Jerry. She enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, and getting outside to do things. She also loved her nightly conversations with her best friend of 50 years, Brenda. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Jerry Lowery; sons, Jeffrey Lowery of McAllen, Tex. and James “Michael” Lowery of Thomasville; daughter, Donna “Mo” Culler (K.C) of Salisbury; and grandson, Jeremy Lowery. Arrangements: The memorial service will be held at Providence Baptist Church on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m., Pastor Sy Ponds will officiate. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Lowery family.
