Mary Myers Obituary

Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Myers, 86, of Mocksville, NC passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Davie Nursing and Rehab in Mocksville.

Born September 28, 1938 in Yadkin County, NC she was the daughter of the late Carl Rachels and Lula Peele Rachels.

Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Yadkin County Schools and attended Thomas Nelson Community College in Newport News, VA. Lib worked as a physical therapist assistant for several years. She lived in many different places throughout Europe and the United States. She was member and sang in the choir at Lebanon Lutheran Church. Lib enjoyed doing crafts, painting and coloring as a hobby.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Myers is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Myers, Jr.; two sisters, two brothers, and grandson, Brenton Lee Shaw.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tim Shaw (Laura); step sons, Barry Myers (Lori) and Ronald Myers (Christie); step daughter, Jeane Cook (Bobby); grandson, Douglas Shaw; step grandson, Russell Joyce; along with numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-3PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Summersett Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 4PM in the Lebanon Lutheran Church cemetery with Pastor Greg McEwen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
