Maurice Eagle Jr.

Maurice Edison Eagle, Jr., 75, of Gold Hill, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury. He was born July 22, 1946 in Rowan County to the late Maurice Edison Eagle, Sr. and Margaret Price Eagle. Maurice served in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Bragg and Fort Knox military bases. He worked as a mechanic all of his life and worked for Trexler Trucking. Maurice loved hunting and NASCAR. Maurice is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane Janette Eagle; children, Lisa (Henry) Haskell of Charleston, S.C., Maurice “Reece” E. (Melissa) Eagle III of Gold Hill and Nancy (Daniel) Hamilton of Rockwell; brother, Kenneth Michael (Lynn) Eagle of Gold Hill; six grandchildren, Morgan Haskell (Eric) Johnson, Justice Hamilton, Nathaniel Hamilton, Grace Eagle, Anna Eagle and Alex Eagle; great-grandchildren, Zoey and EJ Johnson. Visitation: The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, July 30, 1-2 p.m. at East Corinth Baptist Church, 12510 Stokes Ferry Rd, Gold Hill, NC 28071. Service: The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, in the East Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor Johnny Daniel officiating.
