Melvin Harmon Obituary
Born June 1, 1929, in Caldwell County, NC, he was the son of the late Carroll Goulder Harmon and Ora Mae Bolick Harmon.
He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and in other church offices. He was a member of the Gideons serving 46 years and was involved in the prison ministry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 63 years, Lillian Boone Harmon; sons, Barry Harmon, Timothy Harmon; and brothers, Herbert and Wayne Harmon.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Patricia Harmon Page of Salisbury; daughter-in-law, Linda Harmon of Salisbury; brothers, Garland Harmon, Alvin Harmon; sisters, Janice Tolbert, Lena Thomas, Edith Gryder, Ruby Miller; grandchildren, Tiffany Page of Salisbury, Garrett Harmon (Whitley) of Salisbury, Kristin Mahaley (Tyler) of Salisbury; and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Henley Page, Ansley Harmon, Brody and Emersyn Mahaley.
The family will receive friends 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday (August 24) at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Scott Faw and Rev. Steve Sells officiating. Entombment will be in Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The Harmon family has always held a special place in the hearts of the Milton Morgan family. I remember going to church and afterwards, going to visit with the Harmons. Melvin was a special friend to my Dad...both devout Christian men who loved God, their families and the church. I have sweet memories of many vacations and Pat & Mick's Fish Camp meals spent with Melvin's family. Heaven gained a special angel...I am sure Lillian was waiting to greet him with open arms...and his sons, Barry & Tim were there, too. Milton & Pat Morgan were present, as well.
Pat (Harmon Page), rejoice in the fact that your dad has gone on to his Heavenly home. Much love to you, Pat. Condolences, prayers and sympathy to you and your family.

Mr. Melvin was a wonderful man and neighbor.
I use to see him walking to his daughter-in-law/grandsons house until he was no longer able to do so. He will be truly missed.
