Michael Honeycutt Obituary
CLEVELAND - Michael McCoy "Mike" Honeycutt, 43, passed away at his home, Saturday morning, Feb. 18, 2012.
Born Oct. 18, 1968 in Iredell County, he was the son of Jerry and Janie Waller of Woodleaf. A 1988 graduate of West Rowan High School, Mike was a member of Woodleaf United Methodist Church and had been a dedicated employee at Freightliner for 22 years, where he was a material handler. Mike loved all of his family and friends, his trucks, motorcycles, tractors, four-wheeling, mud trucks,raising his cows, working in his shop and being outdoors.
Always willing to help others, Mike was a gentle and kind man with a giving and caring soul. He will greatly missed by all of his family and friends and will always be loved by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, family members left to cherish Mike's memory include his daughter, Misty Eagle and her fiance Josh Freeborn; his sister, Tina Honeycutt Baynard and husband Jeff; nephews, Jake Everhart, Will Baynard, Jeremy and Matthew Waller; nieces, Brandy and Courtney Waller; special friend, Carla Honeycutt; step-daughters, Jennifer Foster and husband Corey and Brittany Smith; his step-brothers, Tommy Waller and wife Lori and Darrell Waller; grandchildren, Haley "Rabbit" Foster and Olivia Foster; uncles; aunts; and many, many friends.
Service & Visitation: The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20. 2012 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. MIke's funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at Woodleaf United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Curtis Goforth and Rev. Ron Hartman, pastors. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: Memorials may be made in Mike's name to Woodleaf United Methodist Church, c/o the building fund, PO Box 299, Woodleaf, NC 27054.

Whether I was bouncing around like a rag doll in The Beast, riding behind you on your bike, sitting beside of you at the movies or dinner, or falling asleep with you on the couch, I was happy to just be with you. 3 months later and just learning of your passing. Last saw you in November, you told us how you had recently been through alot. Mike, you were a good man, my Father passed away soon to be 17 years ago, and throughout the years I would have only considered 3 men my 'step pops' and you were one of them. I will rememeber all our fun memories. May you Rest Peacefully. I may have to pull for the Cowboys at least once this year for you. Michael, Douglas and I are very saddened to hear of your passing. Michael is an employee of Freightliner and I am a former employee. Douglas said he knew you, as a friend. As Cleveland residents, we are always saddened to hear of a community member leaving us far too soon. Our hearts and prayers go out to your family members and of course, your many friends. I don't know alot of things but one thing I do know is Mike and how he loved life in general~~~ I saw him this past Tuesday at work and he was talking about coming back soon and looking forward to it~~we talked about Bike Week coming up and was hoping that he would feel like going with us ~~He had such a great spirit about him~~he lead by example and would always stop what he was doing to lend a helping hand even if it ment him getting behind~~~I had the privilege in riding our bikes several times at different poker runs and charity events and had lots of fun~~To his family , Janie and Jerry and everyone else...May God Bless You is my daily prayer and give you peace in knowing that he is at peace and how the reunion will be sweet indeed~~Love You Guys !!!
