Minnie Bost

Minnie Lee Russell Bost, 88, of Gold Hill, ascended to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born on Sept. 13, 1927, in Gold Hill to the late Henry Guy and Sallie Kathleen Shaver Russell. Educated in Rowan County schools, Minnie Lee was a 1945 graduate of Rockwell High School and attended Pfeiffer College. She was a longstanding member of Grace Lower Stone Church where she taught Sunday School for years, as well as acting as Youth Fellowship Advisor. Minnie Lee was an active member of the Rockwell Chapter 317 Order of The Eastern Star and served her term as Worthy Matron. Before becoming a homemaker, Minnie Lee was an office worker for Cannon Mills for about 10 years. Cross stitch, canning and crocheting were among many of Minnie Lee's talents. This can be evidenced by the beautiful Christmas ornaments she made for the church bazaar throughout the years. Minnie Lee will be forever in the hearts of those she touched, both kin and friend. RIP Sweet Angel! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Gene and William Guy Russell; as well as a sister, Miriam Russell McCulloch. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Zeb Bost; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved as much as if they were her own children. Visitation: A Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church (2405 Lower Stone Church Road, Rockwell, NC 28138). Service: The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Steven De Gangi and Rev. Dr. Darryl Maxwell. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lower Stone Memorial Fund (2405 Lower Stone Church Road, Rockwell, NC 28138).
