Minnie Conway Obituary
Mrs. Minnie "Lucille" Frost Conway, age 88 of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025. Born on May 7, 1937, in Davie County, North Carolina, she was the eldest daughter of the late Arthur William Frost, Sr. and Mabel Hudson Frost.
A lifelong advocate for education and child development, Mrs. Conway graduated from Dunbar High School and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Livingstone College. She later pursued further studies at Medgar Evers College in New York City, where she obtained a second degree that deepened her commitment to nurturing young minds.
Mrs. Conway began her career as an educator in the New York Public School System, where she touched countless lives with her wisdom, patience, and unwavering dedication. Her passion for children led her to entrepreneurship, founding and operating a successful child care center that became a trusted haven for families in her community.
After retiring, Mrs. Conway and her beloved husband of 33 years, the late Mr. Ernest Conway, returned to her North Carolina roots. Retirement, however, was short-lived; she soon opened another child care center, continuing her life's work with the same joy and purpose that defined her career.
Mrs. Conway and Mr. Conway shared a beautiful life together, filled with travel, laughter, and deep companionship. She found joy in gardening, shopping, golfing, fishing, and most of all, in spending cherished time with her family. Mrs. Conway loved to sing and was a member of The Park Church in Charlotte NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Conway; her brothers Ralph Frost, Ronald Frost, Jake Frost, Arthur Frost Jr., George Frost, Douglas Frost, Donald Frost, and Robert Frost; her stepson Ronald Conway (Lorraine); and her step-grandson Ernie Conway.
Mrs. Conway leaves behind a loving family to honor her memory: her step-daughters Diane Conway of Rock Hill, SC, and Linda Clark (Jonathan) of New York City; her step-granddaughter Nicole Conway Robinson (John), Danielle and Cheyenne Gloster of Rock Hill, SC; her brother Larry Frost of Salisbury, NC; sisters Patricia Frost, Beverly Grier, Valerie Stephens (Carlos) of Charlotte, NC, Glenda Hunter and Annette Roman (Bobby) of Salisbury, NC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Among her many beloved relatives, Mrs. Conway shared a particularly close bond with her nieces Pamela Shirley and Stephanie Hernandez, who remained by her side with unwavering love and support.
Her legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral Service: Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at The Park Church 6029 Beatties Ford Rd. Charlotte, NC 28216. Family Visitation: 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be held at a later date at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
