Nancy Coggin Obituary
Nancy was born June 15, 1936 in Rowan County, NC to the late Calvin DeBerry Eagle and Martha Caroline “Callie” Trexler Eagle. She was a Class of 1954 graduate of Boyden High School where she was a cheerleader and remained active with her class serving on the reunion committee. Nancy worked for NC Finishing Company until her retirement.
Nancy was a member of Community Baptist Church and was active in the Joy Club. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to dance, sing and garden. Nancy loved to perform church skits with her sister and friends at many churches and organizational meetings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Tommy Wayne Coggin; son, Mark Eugene Coggin; grandson, Joshua Caleb Coggin ; sisters, Betty Beattie, Retta McClamrock, Virginia Osborne and brothers, Murray Lee Eagle, Napolean Grant Eagle.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary Wayne Coggin (Lynn) of Jenkintown, PA; daughter, Lynne Coggin Walters of Faith, NC; brother, Don Eagle (Carol) of Garland, TX; grandchildren: Michael Quay Coggin (Christina), Alexander Mundy Coggin (Michael), Samantha Lynn Coggin, Gabrielle Wayne Brazell (David), Blaise Thomas Coggin, Daniel Wayne Walters, Jeremy Wayne Coggin (Jordan); 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM - Noon Friday (Oct 10) at Summersett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at noon in Summersett Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Rowan Memorial Park.
