Nancy Speck Obituary

Nancy Deal Speck, 83, of China Grove passed away Sunday December 1, 2024, at Best of Care Assisted Living in Kannapolis.

Nancy was born on August 10, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Carl and Roseanna Deal. Their home was always filled with music which led to Nancy's love for singing. She enjoyed being a member of the Salisbury Rowan Choral Society for many years.

Nancy married Harold Speck on November 12, 1961. They established a home on Harold's family farm on Miller Road and were blessed with a daughter, Melissa.

Nancy worked as a legal secretary in Salisbury until the birth of her grandson, Grant, who she stayed at home with.

Nancy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Wesley) Stokes, her grandson, Grant (Kellie) Stokes, her sister Susan Sloop, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her sister Peggy (Walter) Goodman, and her brother Danny (Gail) Deal.

Nancy especially will be remembered for her beautiful voice and being a caretaker for many of her friends and family.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 9 - 10:30 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Salisbury with the funeral following at 11 am.
