Peggy Cruse Obituary
A native of Rowan County, she was the wife of the late William A. Cruse and the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Brown Barger and Cora Mae Hoyle Barger. In addition she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Samuel and Clifford; sisters, Thula Huffling, Virginia Watson, Bernice Poole, Marie Barger, Ruth Cartner Marly, and Muriel Hill.
She devoted most of her life to being a loving homemaker, caring for her family. Peggy was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. She deeply loved her father and his ministry, and cherished her beloved sisters, husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her two sons, William A. Cruse, Jr. and Steven Aldon Cruse and wife Susan; one sister, Freda Basinger; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in the Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury, NC, with Martha Richardson, officiating.
