Philip Isley Obituary

Philip Morris Isley, 69, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Novant Medical Center of Huntersville.

Philip was born December 27, 1954 to the late Clarence Woodrow Isley and Billie Mae West Isley in Rowan County. He was a graduate of North Rowan High School class of 1973, where he achieved the state championship title in wrestling. Philip worked for Freightliner for many years in the manufacturing department. He was an avid sports fan especially the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves. Also, he enjoyed travel, trying new foods, and enjoyed many adventures in his life. Philip was a kind soul, honest, positive, and would help anyone he could along life's journey.

In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his two brothers, Donald Isley and Tommy Isley.

Surviving are his two nephews, Scott Isley and wife Christy of Rockwell, Donnie Isley of Salisbury; his “partner in crime”, Cheryl Gore of Huntersville and children: Jada, Aimee, and granddaughter, Nova; sister-in-law, Gail Isley of Lexington; a niece, Amy Martin; great-nieces and nephews, Erica, Lani, Cameron, Riley, Hannah, Chloe, Zaylen.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at CrossLife Community Church, 205 Newsome Road, Salisbury, NC 28146

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the veteran's organization of the donor's choice.

So sorry for your loss. Phil worked for me many years always a positive influence on all around him. Always happy but when he wasn´t you could tell by the head tilt and the grit-tin teeth. Im sure he will be missed by many. I considered Phil a great friend.
