Richard Chaffin

Richard Stewart Chaffin, Sr., 67, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his residence. Born July 9, 1955, in Rowan County, Richard was the son of the late Eugene and Juanita Doss Chaffin. In addition to his parents, his sister, Kathy Chaffin Simmons also preceded him in death. Ricky was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked in maintenance at Rowan Medical Center and later with Rowan County. He later volunteered and worked for the Salisbury VA Medical Center. Richard enjoyed carpentry work and riding motorcycles. He was active in Rolling Thunder. Survivors include his son, Richard Chaffin, Jr. and wife, Samantha; daughter, Christy Chaffin; granddaughter, Anabelle Chaffin; brother, Tim Chaffin; and sister, Angie Keller and husband, Bobby.
