Sue Carol Honeycutt

Sue Carol Honeycutt, 69, of Gold Hill, passed away Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Born Feb. 3, 1947 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Harold McNeary Honeycutt and Elizabeth Gordon Honeycutt. Mrs. Honeycutt was educated in the Rowan County Schools and was a bus driver for the Rowan-Salisbury School System. A member of West Park Baptist Church, she enjoyed playing music on her keyboard. Her family was her life. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sons, Keith Allen Rattz and Reggie Earl Rattz, Jr.; brothers, Pete Honeycutt and Myron Honeycutt; and sisters, Frances Lambert, Dallas Atkinson, Dolly Smith and Shirley Smith. Survivors include sons, Gaylor Rattz and wife Tera of Gold Hill; Michael Shawn Rattz and wife Cheri of Salisbury; daughters, Carol Suzette Rattz Thompson of Salisbury and Beth Shipton and husband Bruce of Gold Hill; brothers, Harold Honeycutt, David “Rod” Honeycutt, Jimmy Honeycutt, Eddie Honeycutt and Jeffery Honeycutt; sister, Angie Shaver; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at West Park Baptist Church. Services: Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at West Park Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Charles Carver, pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
