Thomas Stubbins Obituary

Thomas J. Stubbins, Sr.

SALISBURY - Mr. Thomas James Stubbins, Sr., 58, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem.

Born Sept. 25, 1953 in Alliance, Ohio to Don Stubbins of Alliance, Ohio and the late Bettey Stubbins, he was a graduate of Alliance High School Class of 1971. He was a graduate of Kent State University in Kent Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education. Mr. Stubbins made a career as a music teacher and a professional musician.

Mr. Stubbins was a member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Stubbins; son, Thomas J. "Tommy" Stubbins Jr.; daughter, Cora Genevieve Stubbins; and sister, Peggy Molnar and husband Craig.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 18 at Summersett Funeral Home.

Service: A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. at Milford Hills United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 19, conducted by Rev. Steve Combs.

Tom will be sadly missed here at Hanford-Dole E.S. In addition to being a fantastic teacher, he was a wonderful colleague and friend. He is surely now a beautiful choir member to our Lord & Savior.
