Walter J. Faust, Jr.

SALISBURY - Walter James Faust, Jr., age 62, of 936 Fairmont Ave., died on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Brian Center of Salisbury.

Born Dec. 17, 1946, in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Walter J. Faust and Hannah Belk Faust. He was a graduate of York Grove High School in Charlotte and attended Rowan Technical Institute.

He retired as a machine operator from Cone Mills. He later worked at Fieldcrest Cannon and Freightliner.

A member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, he formerly served as a trustee. He also was a member of the Saturday Night Rockets Bowling League.

Left to cherish fond memories of him are his wife, Lydia House Faust of the home; sons Walter J. Faust, III of Buffalo, N.Y., and Robert (Yvette) Faust of Salisbury; brother Jerry Charles Faust and sister Barbara Ann (John) Jenkins, both of Charlotte; stepsons Kenneth McDaniel of Danville, Va., and Marcus Washington of Salisbury; special nieces Katherine Johnson and Joella Faust, both of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Public Viewing and Visitation: Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the home on Fairmont Avenue.

Funeral Service: Friday at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
