Wilbert Martin Obituary
GRANITE QUARRY - Wilbert William Martin, Sr., 55, of 220 Oak St., died Monday, February, 4, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born June 30, 1952, in Rowan County, Mr. Martin was a son of the late Tommy C. and Ruthie Gladney Martin. A graduate of East Rowan High School, he was last employed as the Head Chef at Holiday Inn.
Mr. Martin was a member of White Rock AME Zion Church, Granite Quarry.
Survivors include sons Wilbert W. Martin, Jr., Winter Haven, Fla., Nolan Grey Mash, Statesville; daughters Nafessa Martin, Winter Haven, Fla., Chrystal Martin, Lakeland, Fla.; sisters Rachel Martin, Lexington, Ann Rushing, New Jersey, Paulette Gladden (Theodore), East Spencer, Sandra Fergerson, California, Shelia Cox (Johnnie), Charlotte; and grandchildren Monaejah Martin, Kenadriel Hayes and Jada Cobbett.
Visitation: 11 a.m. Saturday at White Rock AME Zion Church. The family is also meeting at the home of his sister, Mrs. Paulette Gladden, at 501 E. Hall St., East Spencer.
Service: 12 p.m. Saturday at White Rock AME Zion Church with the Rev. William Gullick, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Flowers and donations may be sent to Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc., 223 E. Fisher St., Salisbury, NC 28144.

I worked at holiday inn with wilbert. i can remember a lot of good time we had at rascal`s together. He will be missed. my heart goes out to the family.
