Willene Barnhardt Obituary
CHINA GROVE - Willene Corriher Barnhardt, 89, of China Grove, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center following a period of declining health.
Born Feb. 7, 1919, in Rowan County, she was daughter of the late Henry and Carrie Shuping Corriher. A homemaker, she was educated in Rowan County schools.
Mrs. Barnhardt was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Happy Age Seniors and Angie Kimball Circle of Women of the ELCA.
She was preceded in death by husband Orin Wiley Barnhardt on Oct. 11, 1990; grandson Bryan Barnhardt; four brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include sons Royce Barnhardt (Judy) of Salisbury, Nolan Barnhardt (Vickie) of Lexington, Dwight Barnhardt (Gail) of China Grove; grandchildren Janice Gordon (Mike), Keith Barnhardt (Lissa), Patricia Long (Tim), Carrie Bordeaux (Derek), Daniel Barnhardt (Melissa), Shannon Bare (Brent), Brandon Barnhardt; stepgrandchildren Michelle Craver and Meredith Goodman; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church conducted by pastor, Rev. Joseph Tallent. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. Remainder of the time, family will be at the home of son Dwight Barnhardt, 460 Goodman Road, China Grove.
Memorials: Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Road, China Grove, NC 28023.

Sorry to hear of your mom's death. She is happy now even tho not there with all of you. We will miss her.Loved her dearly. Wish I could be there. Sorry I will miss singing with the family for her. I know she wanted us to and am glad the others will be there. Wanted to let you know we are thinking of you.. and sending love to all.
