Adam Swanson Obituary

Adam Jacob Swanson

January 21, 1978 ~ November 16, 2021

Born January 21, 1978, to Gerry David Swanson and Paula Lou Ann Swanson, passed after a courageous battle with brain cancer on November 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Adam grew up in Taylorsville, Utah and was the oldest of "The Swanson Boys". He became the "man of the house" at the age of seven when his parents divorced and never complained about the responsibilities placed on his shoulders. Adam's personality was adaptive, accepting and no BS. Everyone loved Adam, even if they didn't agree with him. This aspect of Adam earned him the position of student body President at Bennion Jr. High School in his 9th grade year. Adam aways did things Adam's way. In the Twelfth grade, Adam was offered one thousand dollars if he earned a 4.0 GPA; he did it. At the age of nineteen he rolled his Jeep Renegade (that he customized himself) and was featured on the cover of Four Wheel Drive Magazine. Adam always enjoyed a good game of cards with friends, dating back to the notorious card games at "The Swanson's" that could last into the early hours of the morning.

Adam believed he could win with any hand he was dealt. He also liked to bet big, which is probably why so many "friends" showed up, HA! Adam was a self-starter with a strong work ethic. He ran his landscape company from the age of sixteen until his passing. No matter if he was up all night plowing or working in the hot sun all day, he was always a dedicated Girl Dad to Kenzington and Averiel. He loved attending their gymnastics and singing events and was always proud of his daughters.

Adam's heart and home was open to everyone. Adam would always be there when you needed him. Whether it was a helping hand (and truck to move), an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on, Adam was there with a glass of wine or a steak cooked to perfection. No one could cook a steak like Adam! When Adam was dealt the worst hand, he accepted it, but didn't fold. When his bluff was called, he stretched the 7-2 off-suit to the river. Adam was a strong loving man who is greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of being in his life.

Adam is survived by his two daughters; Kenzington and Averiel, their Mother; Alexis Swanson, his mother; Paula L Swanson and his 3 brothers; Ryan, Andrew and Gerry Swanson. He is preceded in death by his father;Gerry D. Swanson.

Such a cute little boy, amazing child and wonderful man. A lot of living packed into a life cut too short. He leaves a beautiful legacy in his family and friends. We are so sorry for your loss.

I´m sorry I didn´t get a chance to meet him but I feel I knew him through all the fun photos that I saw of him and Rylies girls. His personality just shines through everyone of them. I´m so sorry for such a tremendous loss and I promise I will plant a tree in France for Adam!!!!
