Allen Holmes Obituary
On the morning of Thursday March 30, Allen "Stretch" Holmes passed away at age 78. Allen was born in McComb, Mississippi on January 14, 1939. He was the second of four children born to Joe & Ella Holmes. He is preceded in death by his wife, Tony Kaye Holmes; two Brothers, Leroy Holmes & William Henry Holmes; and his Foster Mother, Annabelle Weakley. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children: Byron Scott, Craig Holmes & Jennifer Holmes - One Sister, Marilyn Holmes Tang - five Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren & a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and dear friends.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 6 to 8 at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary. His Family & Friends will miss him dearly. To my friend and role model. Allen was a great Basketball player at the U of U and was well thought of Nationally. Years ago I ask Allen, are you left handed or right? Allen smiled and responded, Wally that depends on how the defense is playing me. I pray that the family be blessed during this time. Allen, thank you for the memories..
