ALLEZ ASHMEAD Obituary

Allez Morrill Ashmead 1916 ~ 2010 Allez Morrill Ashmead, 93, died in her home at Kaysville, Utah, October 21, 2010. She was born December 18, 1916 in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Laban Rupert and Zella May (Miller) Morrill. She was raised in Kimberly, Idaho. She graduated Valedictorian from Kimberly High School 1934. She was also Valedictorian when she received her BS degree in 1938, MS degree in 1952 and PhD degree in 1970. She married Harvey Harold Ashmead September 24, 1940. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked as an educator in Utah and Idaho. She also created and directed the speech and hearing programs for the Davis County and Box Elder School Districts. She was a professor at U of U and BYU. She had a private practice specializing in speech pathology and orofacial myology. She authored numerous professional publications. Allez served in numerous capacities in Church, Community and Professional organizations. She was frequently recognized for her outstanding service. Her biography has appeared in several Who's Who publications, Two Thousand Notable Women, Five Hundred Leaders of Influence and Woman of the Year. She believed in love, service, excellence, and action with the highest ethics possible. She met every challenge with courage and determination. Allez was a world traveler. Traveling to new places was always an exciting adventure for her. She is survived by her son, H. DeWayne (Jill) Ashmead, Fruit Heights; three daughters, Sheryl May (John Paul) Harames, Hooper; Z. Janeel (David) Henderson, Fruit Heights; and Emma (Jerry) Broadfoot, Rigby, Idaho; 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren: two sisters-in-law, Ellen Morrill and Rebecca Morrill. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Laren, C.R., Garth, sister Emma, and beloved husband, Harvey. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 9th Ward, 600 E. 200 So. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
