Dear Alvin's family,
I so sorry to hear that Al passed away. Today I'm very sad. I just found out today when I went to Jennifer's grave. I feel so bad I didn't find the obit sooner, I would of attended his service. I always had the out most respect for Al. He always treated me with kindness and respect. He was great man. He was very kind and a great people person. I was always impressed of the things he accomplished in his life. Now Alice and Jenn are together in much better place. May the Lord bless Alice Jenn and Alvin and your entire family. He will be missed.

Dear Julia and Jim,
We were so sorry to hear about the death of your father. We didn't hear about the funeral until Friday night. We would have been there to support you both if we had known. We loved your father too. One day after our father died and Linda, Mary Lou and Cynthia were at the house your Dad came over to check on his "Gessel Girls". We had a wonderful visit as we reminisced about all the good times on Lambourne Avenue. We loved your mom and Jennifer too. What a happy reunion there must have been!
All the Gessels mourn your loss.
Love,
Mary Lou and Cynthia

Dear Julia, Lisa and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear about Al. He always had a smile and a kind word. I remember him teasing my daughter Erin during Hospitality time at church, telling her to keep an eye on her little brother. And from my childhood I remember your mom and dad sitting in the old Sunday School office doing some kind of paperwork each week.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
God's Grace,
Donna Jean & Martin Turnley.

Jim and Julie,
I cannot remember a time that your dad passed me on Lambourne and did not stop or wave to say "hello", with his "hello big Ed". He truly is a part of the "greatest generation" and will definitely be missed by our family.

Dear Mitchell family,
When I became a member of the Utah Sports Hall of Fame board, Al was always one who welcomed me and greeted me at all meetings and banquets. He made me feel welcome and his friendship was special. He also was a special friend to Del Markham, a special relative of mine. He brought him to meetings when Del's health allowed him. He cared a lot for others; a special trait. God be with your family in your loss.

Julia and Jim,
I'm so sorry about your Dad. I wish we could be there, but unfortunately we can't - I know it meant so much to us when all of you came to Seattle when our dad passed. Please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you. We will miss Uncle Al very much - so many memories.

Dear Mitchell Family,
Your father,grandfather,great-grandfather was a true hero. I had the privilage of knowing him all my life. He was the poster boy for the successful professional, he helped out those people less fortunate than him and he was a true friend to my family and especially my father. I will never forget they way he treated my father, even when dad struggled with his illness. Gabby was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. I'll miss you Gabby, rest in peace.
