Annalee Van Skyhawk Obituary

Our Little Angel Girl Annalee Jean Van Skyhawk, age 4, passed away peacefully at home, October 23, 2003. She suffered from kidney disease and other organ failure due to complications from surgery and Joubert Syndrome. Born Dec 28, 1998 at Alta View Hospital, Sandy, UT. Parents, Bradley and Rebecca Conover Van Skyhawk, both from Sandy. The family resides in Riverton, UT. Annalee is cherished by many. She has radiated a beautiful spirit and her courageous presence has calmed and comforted those around her. Annie influenced us for good through the gentle squeeze of her fingers and her glowing smile. Though she could not talk, this sweet girl spoke volumes through her magnetic, endearing soul. Annie definitely communicated her desires through the happy wave of her hand, or the straightening of her legs. She even occasionally complained with her voice or asserted her will with obstinate motions of her body. Despite her numerous challenges, Anna touched us with her fearless determination, her unending patience, her devotion to music and her unconditional love for all. Annalee made many friends, young and old, wherever she went. She attended Bluffdale Preschool, Brookwood LDS Ward, and was a popular patient at Primary Children's Hospital. Annie will be remembered for doing things in her own way, in her own time, on her own terms. We will miss you, beloved daughter, precious sister, and dear little friend. You cannot be replaced. The good you inspired, the service you caused and the faith you encouraged to grow, will always be appreciated. We feel such loss with your parting, for we have truly been touched by your life. Survivors, parents; brothers, Conner, Lucas, Jacob, and baby-brother-to-be; grandparents, George and Florence Conover, Norman and Catherine Van Skyhawk, all of Sandy; great-grandmother, Eva Conover, Ferron, UT; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral will be Tues. Oct 28, 2003, 11 a.m., Brookwood Ward Chapel, 1900 W. 11970 S, Riverton, UT. Friends may call at the church Mon. 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Tues. one hour prior to the service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. We love you so much, Annalee. We shall meet you again. May God hold you in His arms until then. Farewell, Little Love.

Brad & Rebecca, what an impact Annalee truly had in so many peoples lives. Mine included. I can't thank you enough for the time that you so graciously allowed me to spend with her. I only wish that I could have had more opportunities. Rebecca, I have told you before, but I will tell you again, you are truly an inspiration to me and I am so thankful for our friendship and for the love you have so freely shared on my behalf. God be with you and your family at this time and know that many thoughts and prayers come your way. Annie is now able to dance with the angels without anything setting her back.

Annie Bananie, Miss RockerGirl,

And all those other names we found for you at school! You were such a special little girl with so many special talents. All of us at Bluffdale are really going to miss your smiles, and the way you would play your music for everyone to dance to. Most of all we'll miss your presence that brought smiles to everyone, everyday. We looked forward to the day that you would return to school, ready to have fun and learn with us again. But most importantly, we wanted you to get better. I feel very honored and privileged to have worked with such a special little girl. I learned so many things from you Annalee and I will miss you so much, I already do. Even though I worked with you for such a short time, I felt like I knew you inside and out. I remember how much you looked forward to the fun stuff when therapy was over with. And how you smiled when I said it was time for snack. Those hundreds of memories will stay with me forever. I miss you so much already, dear friend. Even though you can no longer be with us physically, your spirit will be felt all around us and in the classroom always. We love you Miss Annalee!

For Annalee's family:

My heart and prayers are with you as you go through this tough time in your lives. May you all be at peace and find unity to remain as a strong family to help each other get through.

With Love,

Desiree. Annie's intervener and friend.

What a GORGEOUS little girl ! Surely she is sitting on Heavenly Fathers lap as we speak telling Him about her wonderful family...

She is running & playing with the angels now & so full of joy, pointing her beloved family out for all to see. God bless you all at this time of parting. But please know she will ALWYS be close to you!
