Austin Parton Obituary

Oct. 26, 1984 ~ Oct. 18, 2017
We are deeply saddened by the death of Austin David Parton, who was tragically taken from us at the hands of another. Austin was born October 26, 1984 in Murray, Utah to David and Sandy (Hofhiens) Parton. He married Destiney (Henning) Parton. Raised in Utah, Austin most recently lived in Mesa, Arizona where he was an ASU Phi Beta Kappa honor student on his way to becoming a Physician Assistant. Austin was a talented musician and artist and touched many with this gift. Through his example, his gentle nature and compassion for others, those who came in contact with Austin found hope in life. Austin worked as a counselor helping others find a path to sobriety. Austin was a gentle soul living life with grace, kindness and integrity.
Austin is survived by his wife, parents, brother (Jason), sister (Makenzie), grandmothers, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Like others who have suffered a tragic loss of life as a result of a random act of violence, we struggle to find peace. He is preceded in death by his aunt and grandfathers.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at the Murray 1St Ward, 755 East Three Fountains Drive, Murray, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pathfinders Recovery Center, 7600 E. Redfield Road, Suite #105, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 where a fund has been set up in Austin's name to support and shelter young men suffering from addiction who lack the means to pay for treatment.

Sandy, Dave, Jason, McKenzie,

Austin was a courageous and sensitive young man. I remember our kids playing together without a care in the world. There is no sense or reason to such an awful act. Austin lives on in my heart and cherished memories.

I know I speak for the entire Gale Family when I say that we are deeply saddened to learn that you are all suffering the tragic loss of yet another young and much loved family member. The Hofhiens family hold a special place in our hearts and we cherish our memories of a friendship that began many years ago. Please know that when you are suffering we suffer for you. When you are grieving we grieve with you. May Heavenly Father gather you all in his loving and gentle arms and stay beside you as you face a world without your beloved Austin in it. You are in our thoughts and Prayers.

I only knew Austin for a short me but from the moment I met him, recognized he was a gentleman and a gentle man, who gave world-class hugs. Austin was a wonderful son who even managed to play wing-man to his father, my husband David, by distracting a bunch of my girlfriends at a concert so we could have our first kiss. Whenever I think of that special memory, which I often do, it will include my favorite memory of Austin. How wonderful. Rest in peace Austin. Cynthia

Austin, was as fine a son as a father could wish for. Austin never wanted anyone to make a fuss over his birthdays. We celebrated it yesterday without him. We are so grateful for all the wonderful music and memories you have left for us. Dad
