Barbara Bogart Obituary

Barbara Plumline Bogart 4/9/1920 ~ 4/9/2008 Barbara Plumline Bogart passed away Wednesday April 9, 2008 on her 88th birthday. Barbara was born in 1920 to George and Helen Plumline in Wilmington, Delaware.Barb grew up in the little town of Newport Heights, Delaware. She graduated from high school and went on to graduate from the University of Delaware in 1942 where she obtained a Bachelor of Physical Education degree. She married her high school sweetheart on July 8, 1943. After moving around the country and living in various locations she and her family finally settled in Salt Lake City, UT in 1958. Here she took up skiing in the winter and golfing in summer while raising four sons. Barb golfed two or three times a week with her many golfing buddies. She was an avid golfer until she was 86. A very severe case of Shingles kept her from golfing and about the same time Alzheimer's set in. Barb passed away on her birthday Feb 9,2008 Barb was my best pal, friend, and wife and mother I could have ever wanted. She will be very greatly missed by her family and many friends. Her husband, Bill, four sons, Steve, Mike, Dave, Jeff and her older sister Florence L. Plumline survive her. No funeral services will be held.

Bill, I received your note today and was so very sad to learn of Barb's passing. I didn't realize that she and I shared an April birthday. I will always remember your kindnesses to Ron and I and was so glad that I got to see you both a few years ago. My sincerest sympathy to you and your sons/families.

Barb was like a mother to my wife when she was growing up. My wife always felt the warmth and love of Bill and Barb and they have been exceptional people as long as we have known them. Cindy feels the loss and pain and wishes all of the family the very best. The world just grew a little dimmer but heaven must be beaming.

I am sad to hear of the passing of your wonderful wife, mom, sister and friend, Barb. I have so many wonderful memories of her. Always with a smile on her faces, her head slightly tilted as she listened carefully. There was no questioning when she cared for someone or something. What an athelete! How many times I watched her circling the track on her X-C skis, again, with a big grin on her face! I know that the spaces left in your hearts, in her passing on, will be huge and will ache for a time. Know that that "emptiness" is your love for her, and her love for you as well. I hope that joy and love soon fills the voids for you all. She would wish that so.
I will hold her in a place of honor in my memories.

My sincere condolences,
Jenny
