Barbara Ann Briggs

Barbara Ann Briggs 1935 ~ 2004  WEST HAVEN/HOOPER – Barbara Ann Briggs, 69, went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday October 9, 2004.  She was born to John A Zinie and Ethel May Zinie on April 17, 1935. She lived in Hooper, Utah all her life. She attended Hooper Elementary and Weber High School.  When she was 18 years old she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She then married Ted Duayne Briggs in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent 51 wonderful years together.  During her life she held a variety of callings in the church. Barbara was a joy to everyone she met and easily became a friend to all. She had a real talent for being able to carry on a conversation with anyone who would listen.  She was an avid fan of Rodeos and the Utah Jazz. She had a love of crochet and spent many hours creating her Jingle Socks. She also had a love of gardening and enjoyed spending time in her yard.  The thing she loved most was traveling around the world visiting her family.  She was greeted home by her parents, infant son Don Allen Briggs, two sisters Mildred Craythorne, Donna Stevens and one brother John A Zinie. She left behind her loving husband Ted; sister Vivian Cote (Maurice) Nashua, NH; brother Milo Zinie, Ogden, UT; three daughters Judy Ann Hoggan (Mike), Billings, MT; Shirley Capps Shalimar, FL; Kathy Tormaschy (Dale) Loveland, CO; two sons Dale Allen Briggs, Atlanta, GA; Gary Lynn Briggs, St. George, UT; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. All loved her dearly and will miss her very much.  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West. Family and friends may call on Tuesday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, Barbara has requested donations be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center.  Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com
