Beatrice Trople Obituary

August 27, 1927 ~ May 5, 2016.
Beatrice T. Trople, our "Honey Bea", 88, passed away peacefully from vascular dementia on Cinco de Mayo, one of her favorite holidays, May 5, 2016. Bea was born August 27, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming; to Glen and Eva Leveque Burgess. Bea was the fourth of five siblings, three brothers, Glenn, Martin, Joseph and one sister, Annette.
Mom attended business school in Denver and worked at Arthur Murray dancing school to earn her way.
Bea met the love of her life, her "Bohunk" Frank, in Spearfish, SD and the two were married 11 weeks later on October 15, 1948. Mom and dad had six children, Linda Trople, Albert, (Susan Molitar), Debbie Trople, Greg Trople, Tamara (McKay Baker) Jones, Glen (Lisa Peterson). Mom and dad moved to the avenues in Salt Lake City Utah in 1959. They attended Cathedral of the Madeline and in 1969 they moved to Sugarhouse and attended Our Lady of Lourdes, Later the Newman Center. Mom was a teacher's assistant at the Columbus School for teens and adults with learning disabilities for several years when a teacher friend recognize Bea's gift of teaching and encouraged her to apply for scholarships to earn her degree. Mom attended Westminster College in 1972 on a full scholarship and graduated summa cum laude. She then went on to receive her master's degree in 1977 from the University of Utah. Dad was mom's greatest fan! Bea taught kindergarten at Parkview elementary, Bonneville elementary, Our Lady of Lourdes, The Little Red Schoolhouse and Montessori. Just fathom the number of children whose lives she has touched in the 33 years of teaching, tutoring and just being "Honey Bea".
Bea loved music and dancing, the Utah Jazz, the running Utes and any team that beat BYU! Her husband notwithstanding, she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. We learned that biology is the least of what makes you family. We learned to dance as soon as we could walk. Most importantly she taught us to live life and to love unconditionally.
Bea is survived by her daughters: Linda, Debbie, Tamara: son, Glen, brother: Martin, sister: Annette, son-in-law: Mckay, daughter-in-law, Susan, Lisa, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers please make donations/checks in Bea's name to:

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. From reading her obituary she sounds like she led a wonderful life and made an impact on many. I live in Farr West Utah and have received a few packages and important mail addressed to Beatrice Trople but to my address. I tried to send it back to the post office but they said they couldn't help me because the address was correct and they have no record of her ever residing at my address. I googled her name trying to find who it belongs to and this obituary is the only thing I have found. I'm wondering if someone from the family might want to help me figure out why this is happening and let me return these things that have been sent to me? My number is 8016036216

Dear Trople, (Debbie that is)
and the rest of the family, So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, at peace now. She was a riot. Anyone who knew her would say the same. Deb, I had no idea how much you look like your mom in the early years, uncanny really. Albert and Greg have their long, loving arms around her now, all jitterbugging in heaven. And no one could twirl her like your Dad. Peace to all of you. You were good to her till the very end.
Love you,
kk
(Karen Stack)
p.s. will call you when I get home

Just heard about your moms passing. And my thoughts are with the family at this time. Recently going thru my school stuff I found stuff that your mom gave me 30 plus years ago. Her talent is still being used today --- I loved going into her classroom. Thanks Bea for taking care of me and 'Steve'

Mrs Trople was the kindest, sweetest, most patient pre-kindergarten teacher ever. She taught my youngest son at Our Lady of Lourdes, and she would be tickled pink to know that my son and another one of her students who were best friends in her class, are now married as she predicted! I also attended Our Lady of Lourdes with her daughter Tamara. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, I heard about it tonight while attending a teacher retirement party at Our Lady of Lourdes. After all these years that I've known her, I never knew we were both born on the same day and the same city and state! May the Lord bless her soul and welcome her to heaven. My prayers go to you Tamara, it is difficult to lose your Mother. R.I.P. Mrs Trople. Love and Prayers, Amy (Milstead) Hodgson

How people become friends is as different as there are people. Some friends are around for just a short time and others span decades. The friendship that really touch your soul are those close intimate friendships. Bea and I had one of those friendships. The kind of friendship that could stand the test of time.
I met Bea around 1976 as a field placement student from Westminster. How blessed I was to walk into the classroom of a truly gifted teacher. She loved children and her own children where her pride and joy.
Bea was full of life all the way to the end. No matter what life offered up to her she could always find a sliver lining. I never heard her speak harsh about anyone in all the years I knew her. Age was no barrier between us for Bea was young at heart.
She may have been a gifted teacher but she also had the gift of life. I cherish her friendship and the influence she had on my life.
Thanks for the wonderful friendship
You where a pal and a confidant on the road of life
And the biggest gift we gave each other was the friendship we had
Thank you Bea I love you till we meet again.
