Beverley Woodbury Obituary

Beverley Clair Beesley Woodbury 01/15/25 ~ 01/06/03  Beverley Clair Beesley Woodbury, age 77 of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Monday morning, January 6, 2003 at her apartment in Salt Lake City, resulting from a very painful, rapidly-spreading bone cancer.  Beverley was born as an identical twin on her mother's birthday, January 15, 1925, to William Noall Beesley and Barbara Clair Low Beesley. She married Wallace Richards Woodbury on September 5, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an incredible wife and mother through more than 56 years of marriage. They are the parents of three sons, 12 grandchildren, two grandchildren by marriage, and one great grandson, namely: Wallace R., Jr. (Rick)(Rebecca); Lynn Scott (Cecily); Jeffrey Kay (Sonia);Heather W. Bishop (Scott); Kimberly; Joshua; Luke; Daniel; Michael (Marianne Jackson); Elizabeth; Chelsea; Taylor; Arthur; McKinnon; Barbara and Samuel Bishop all of whom survive, as does her husband Wallace.  She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Barbara Ann Kimball (Wayne). She is also survived by six siblings and five of their spouses, namely: William N. Beesley, Jr. (Hanna); Scott L. Beesley; Gay B. Hanson (Max); Ron Beesley (Vera); Frederick Beesley (Wendy) and Adalee B. Muse (William).  Bev was an immaculate homemaker, an accomplished seamstress, a self-sacrificing mother, a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her beauty, grace, energy, and infectious laugh charmed everyone. Beverley had countless friends throughout the U.S., but particularly from Las Vegas and Salt Lake. She was an integral participant in a Fireside group of her friends which met monthly for 53 years. She was a devout member of the LDS Church and greatly valued her testimony of the truth of the eternal Gospel plan. Beverley and her husband, Wally, traveled extensively throughout much of the world and have enjoyed the cultural experiences resulting from such travel.  We appreciate the efforts of various professionals who have attended Beverley through her struggles with cancer, including but not limited to Dr. Thomas Caine, the various radiologists and oncologists who treated her at U of U Hospital, and the various employees of Rocky Mountain Hospice, particularly Karen Shuttleworth, R.N., Kathy Gardner and her family members.  Beverley will be remembered at a funeral to be held Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 12:00 noon at the Federal Heights Ward Chapel, 1300 East Fairfax Road in SLC. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive. Friends may visit at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary 2350 East 1300 South, Friday, January 10, 2003 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday at the chapel for one hour prior to the funeral.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions in Beverley's memory to Primary Children's Hospital. Beverley most appreciated the many kindnesses, offers to assist and sincere concerns expressed by her many friends.
