BOYD MARSING

Boyd L. Marsing 1926 ~ 2009 Boyd L. Marsing, 83, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend returned to his Father in Heaven on October 13, 2009 after a brief struggle with cancer. He was born March 19, 1926 in Price, UT, to Orson Marsing and Maude Amonette Marsing. Married Belva Bertola in 1945, later divorced. Together they had five children. He then married his sweetheart of 32 years, Caleen Grogan in 1977. They were sealed for eternity in the Provo, Utah Temple in 2002. Together they raised two children. In the saddle by age two, he loved his life as a sheep and cattle rancher. His years of service began young, as Student Body President of Carbon High then Carbon College. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He served on: Price River Water Improvement District, Chair of the Price River Water Users Association, Carbon County Planning and Zoning Commission, Taylor Grazing Advisory Board, The State Lands Advisory Board. As a respected businessman he was a partner in Price Commission, and is a past President of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. Active member of the LDS church, he served in several leadership callings. He is survived by his loving wife Caleen, children, Kirt Marsing (Connie), Price; R Lynn Marsing (Jackie), Salt Lake City; Greg Marsing (Lynette), Price; Tama Gordon (Rand), Price; Boyd Kent Marsing (Carol), Price; Ilise Andersen (Daryl), Logan; Nick L. Marsing (Christina), Manti; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Phyllis Marsing, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents; brother John (Jack); sister Lois and granddaughter Jennifer Gordon. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 16, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at the Price LDS Stake Center, 150 S. 500 E., Price. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 15, 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 S. and Friday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery.
