Carolyn Slaugh Obituary

Carolyn Martinsen Slaugh

1941 ~ 2025

West Valley City, Utah-

On August 31st, 2025, after 84 years our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone returned to her Heavenly Father and the arms of loved ones who had gone before her.

Carolyn was born on July 6th, 1941, in Vernal, Utah to D'Almaine (Dal) and Helen Martinsen. Carolyn grew up in Vernal with siblings Clyde (Dawn) Martinsen, Pauline (Lynn) Smuin and Garth (Betty) Martinsen.

On June 5th, 1959, Carolyn married the love of her life Nolan Reid Slaugh. Together, Carolyn and Nolan had five children: Mike (Lisa) Slaugh, Patty (Paul) Halladay, Rod Slaugh, Judy (Lynn) Aardema, Rick (Mandy) Slaugh and 44 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carolyn had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh, she had a way to make everyone around her feel loved and welcome, her joy was spending time with her family and friends and she was an amazing cook. Carolyn's presence while not the loudest in the room was always the warmest.

Carolyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her earthly life she barred an unwavering testimony to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and honored several callings from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Nolan, son Ricky and grand- daughters, Amber and Tanaka.

The Slaugh family would like to express their love and gratitude to the staff at Quality Hospice and the family members that unselfishly dedicated their time taking care of Carolyn with patience, love and care during the last few years of her time on this earth while she battled the cruel disease of dementia.

Yesterday

Aunt Carolyn was the best aunt ever! I loved staying with her during the summer or anytime we visited her, which was a lot when I was younger. She always welcomed us with loving arms. Her smile and laugh would brighten your day. She was an amazing sister to my mother Pauline. She will be greatly missed. Love, James and Ulene Jensen family
