Christopher Barker Obituary
In Loving Memory
Salt Lake City, UT-Christopher Barker passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Chris was born in Salt Lake City on December 6, 1948 to Clint and Shirley Barker. Chris loved the outdoors, spending many weekends camping and skiing. His career in hospitality allowed him to connect with countless people over the years, which he cherished. He married the love of his life, Margaret "Maggie" "Mugs" Richards. They loved spending their time with their many pets; birds, hound dogs and cats.
Chris is survived by his three sons, Jason (Jill) Barker, Jonathan (Kari) Barker, Cody Barker, and his grandchildren, Kaleb, Harrison, Mason, Cameron, Lily and Lila. He is also mourned by his two sisters, Marianne (Howard) Reichman and Cathy (Max) Steele. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Maggie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Best Friends of Utah. Private services will be held at a later date.

Hello all, we will have a graveside service this Friday June 13th at 11:30 for my dad. 2350 south 1300east Larkin cemetery. Would love to see some old friends.

As one of Squad I was close to Chris. As fellow ski instructors at Brighton we spent many days together teaching and going on ski trips with the guys and his folks. I have 1000s of memories and stories of our time together. You will be missed. Love always Teddy.

Chris was one of eleven boys who hung out together in high school. We shared the best of times full of fun and laughter. The stories of those days are legendary and Chris was one of the funniest and most entertaining of the eleven. Although we seldom saw each other as we grew older, the bond has always remained. Enjoy the journey. I´m sure there are six buddies who will be happy to see you. Squad forever
