Clive Pusey Obituary
Clive Bradford Pusey
1964 ~ 2025
Ogden, UT-Clive Bradford "Brad" Pusey, 61, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2025.
Brad was born on January 18, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second child of Clive Alma Pusey and the late Kathleen Blank Smith. He grew up alongside his siblings, Melanie, Morris and Jared, and from an early age displayed the humor, determination, and adventurous spirit that defined his life. Brad attended Woods Cross High School, where he was a dedicated student-athlete and wrestler. Following high school, Brad attended the University of Utah, where he became a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) fraternity. There, he built lifelong friendships and was remembered by his brothers as a commanding presence - someone who could light up a room with laughter, generosity, and mischief. Brad cherished his fraternity years and the brotherhood that extended far beyond his college days. Brad's life was woven together by his adventurous spirit, his love of the ocean, cycling and his devotion to his family. He found joy in sailing, racing boats out of the San Diego Yacht Club, and finding peace on the water. Brad is survived by his children: Kaitlyn Elizabeth Pusey, Kyra Anne Pusey, and Clive Austin Pusey; his stepchildren, Maelynn Shraeder and Mercy Jensen; and his step-grandchild, Salem Jensen. He is also survived by his father, Clive Alma Pusey, his stepmother, Nina Pusey, his sister Melanie, Morris and his brother Jared. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen, and his stepfather, Robert Smith. Brad's children were his pride and joy. He taught them how to walk, how to swim, and how to follow their passions. He celebrated their academic, artistic, and musical pursuits and never missed the chance to cheer them on. He took great joy in seeing them thrive - whether in school, on stage, in music, or their careers. His humor, music, and storytelling will always be part of them, as will the countless memories of family adventures - skiing Utah slopes, sailing San Diego waters, biking together, and watching extended editions of The Lord of the Rings. Friends and fraternity brothers recall Brad as strong, kind, witty, and endlessly generous. Memories span from fraternity pranks and late-night karaoke sessions to sailing regattas and long conversations filled with laughter.Family members also recall the deep influence of Brad's mother, Kathleen, whose unconditional love nurtured Brad and his children. Her passing earlier this year left him brokenhearted, though he found strength in his children and family. Though his passing leaves a deep void, Brad's love, humor, and spirit will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him. It brings comfort to imagine him now at peace, sailing out to sea with Genevieve - Kaitlyn's late puppy - by his side.
