CLYDE CHERRY

Clyde Lee Cherry 10/1/27 ~ 01/2/2011 BOUNTIFUL-Clyde Lee Cherry, 83, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 of complications related to a fall. He was born October 1, 1927 in Ogden, Utah. He was the second of three sons born to Clyde Cherry and Bessie Clark Cherry. He married his beloved wife, Nadean Stone on September 1, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They were happily married for over 52 years until her death in 2001. Clyde was only 17 years old when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was extremely proud of his military service which totaled more than nine years. He had many stories of adventures on different ships, including service on several aircraft carriers, and he proudly displayed his Navy photos and memorabilia until the end of his life. He and Nadean always spoke fondly of of the time that he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. This was the greatest adventure of their lives. After completing his military service, Clyde went to work as a Machinist for the Southern Pacific Railroad until he retired in 1978. Surviving are his son, Richard L. Cherry (Lavona); and daughter, Susan C. Bayles. He was preceded in death by a son, David Lynn Cherry. He was blessed with five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
