Corinne Nasella Obituary

1952 ~ 2016
Sandy, UT -Corinne Chatterton Nasella, born May 9, 1952, to Willis Atkinson Chatterton and Thelma Gilbert Chatterton in Salt Lake City, Utah peacefully passed from this life onto her heavenly home and into the Lords hands the morning of August 1st, 2016 at the young age of 64. Corinne valiantly battled various forms of cancer up until the end.
Corinne is survived by her husband: Dennis Michael Nasella, three children: Rachel Amelia Nasella Price, Michael James Nasella, Kaitlin Corinne Nasella, her son-in-law: David Albert Price, two grandbabies: Kearon David Price, Desmond Taber Price, two sisters: Tanya Chatterton, Patrice Chatterton (Kevin) Winn, one brother: Todd Gilbert Chatterton. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her older brother Timothy Gilbert Chatterton.
Corinne will be remembered by many for her passion of teaching and as a tenacious competitor on the tennis court. She taught the subjects of business, economics and word processing at various junior highs and high schools for 29 years. She finished her teaching career at Brighton High School, where she coached the ladies tennis team to multiple state championships over the course of many years. Corinne unselfishly donated her time and efforts to the Junior League of Salt Lake City and was a proud member of the University of Utah sorority Chi Omega. She was a die-hard fan of the Utah Jazz, a skilled seamstress, typist, pianist, and shorthand writer. She was highly educated, earning her Master's Degree in Business Education from BYU. Corinne was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints and served the church in many capacities throughout her life. Most notably, she was extremely proud of her children and grandbabies and loved them tremendously. She will be remembered as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, teacher, coach and friend. We will dearly miss her sincere, patient, kind, loving, and competitive spirit.

I am grateful that I was able to have her as my high school tennis coach. She truly cared for us all and wanted the best for us. She will always be remembered as a kind and influential coach, mentor and friend

Miss Chatterton was my type teacher in 8th grade at West Jordan Middle and then in 9th through 11th grade at Bingham High School. She was one of my favorite teachers and she had confidence in her student that they could accomplish anything. I was sad to hear of her passing. God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

To Corinne's family - Dennis, Rachel, Michael and Kaitlin: Wishing you peace at this tender and difficult time of loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you, especially now. However painful the loss as a tennis friend, I'm grateful to have known her and enjoyed our friendship. May God bless all of you. With love, Shirlee Anderson
