DaNell Worwood Obituary

1925 ~ 2015
DaNell Burton Worwood returned to her Heavenly Father on April 27, 2015 shortly after her 90th birthday, which was celebrated with her family and a few close friends at the Victorian House Assisted Living in Levan on April 23, 2015.
She was born April 23, 1925, to Kate Pexton Burton & James Alvin (Al) Burton in Nephi, UT. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in a number of positions but her favorites were singing and leading music.
As a young girl she took dance lessons. She participated in the Juab High ProVita squad, Cheerleader, operas and band where she played the baritone. She attended all grades of school in Nephi. She graduated from the LDS business college in Salt Lake City. DaNell served her community well. During WWII, she sang with a group of girls traveling around Utah performing in war bond shows and she received recognition for that service from the US Treasury Dept. She also participated in community and church choirs. She was put in charge of the Federated Clubs Rose Garden, which was established as a Commerative for WWII men who lost their lives in the war.
She met her sweetheart, Dale Worwood, of Levan, UT during High School. They were married on December 26, 1945, while Dale was on a leave from military service. They moved to Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he was stationed until the end of World War II. They returned to Nephi where they made their home and had 5 children, Betty Ann, Bill, David, Lynn & Diane. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple. They started a local business 4-D Plumbing and Builders Supply where they made many friendships and have been in business for over 60 years. They participated in both the Utah Centennial wagon train and the Sesquicentennial wagon train from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City. She enjoyed painting and was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and shared her talents with many. She taught many 4-H programs in the community. She enjoyed the Juab County Fair and served in many positions there. She was a member of the Delphic literary club for many years and enjoyed her friendships and doing community service with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents , brother Doug, sister Beth Christison and granddaughter Tara Ann Dibble. She is survived by her children: Betty Ann Dibble (Terry), Bill Worwood (Janna), David Worwood (Carmela), Lynn Worwood (Valerie) & Diane Jones (Russ) 15 Grandchildren & 22 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North 100 West. There will be a viewing at Anderson Funeral Home Friday night from 6-8 pm, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be held at Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.

Bill, So sorry for your Loss. It has been a number of years since I have seen you. I certainly recognized the last name, knowing you, I am sure your mother was a very loving sweet Lady. When you have lost both Parents, it kind of leaves you with a empty feeling, just not sure how to explain it. But I have experienced that feeling myself. God Bless you and your family in these difficult times.

Some of my earliest memories include Dale and Danell at extended family gatherings, riding club, community events or at 4D's. Thoughout my life, whenever I saw Danell she was always so cheerful and sweet. Accept my sincere sympathy at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
