Danny Ownby Obituary
Danny passed away on September 22nd, 2014 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Danny was a modern knight who lived with honor and valor. He loved his axe and to ride iron horses. He found solace in wild places, could fix anything, valued philosophy and freedom. For the last 26 years, he was a consistent and stoic presence on Tuesday nights in his "home"-the Valley View group. He believed in the power of words before swords and was the Bard for family rites. He will be welcomed in Avalon.
Danny is survived by his wife Jenny (Pullan), son Nikkilaus, daughter Jessica. His mother Kathy (John) Sundell, brothers Kris (Jamie), Lonnie, Dale (Dustin), nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Norma Bell, Paul and Isabel Ownby, his father Steve Ownby and a fellowship of friends waiting for him (Get the coffee ready!) at the big meeting in the sky.
Friends and family are invited to an Irish-styled wake on Saturday, October 4, at the clan homestead: 5429 South Bastile Drive (2855 West), Taylorsville from 4:00-7:00 pm to celebrate Danny's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made at any Mountain America Credit Union to the Danny Ownby Myeloma Fund. Donations will be used to pay medical expenses and to assist caregivers of Multiple Myeloma patients.

Jenny...I can't tell you how sad I was when I saw the tribute to Danny in the newspaper on Sunday. We are so sorry to not have been there for you as you have been there for us. The hardest words, but so true are that he is as Jarod is, in a better place waiting for our arrival. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

All of us here at the shop send our condolences and heartfelt sympathy's at this time. Danny has and will be missed by us all. His efforts and contributions to all of us that worked with him will not be forgotten. Danny had a genuine way about him. He seemed to always lend a hand where needed and, was always willing to give of his time when someone needed reassurance or advice. Danny is a strong spirit. This he proved by his never wavering fight against his illness to the end. May he rest without pain, and begin his adventure with loved ones that have preceded him in leaving this earthly existence.

My thoughts and prayers to what have been a difficult time for your family. As I read Danny's beautiful tribute I know of the love and support of his family and friends. When visiting Danny's home when he was a child they had a Doberman, and she scared me to death. He with a big smile and his brothers helped me with words. He never changed, and has always been brave, courageous, strong, kind, and like many years ago playing .. ready for battle.
