Darrell Ewell Obituary

Darrell George Ewell
1935 ~ 2015
Our loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend returned to our Heavenly Father on November 15, 2015 surrounded by his family after a battle with prostate cancer.
Darrell George Ewell was born in Santaquin, Utah to George Ewell and Madeline (Madge) Sanford on November 1, 1935. Darrell graduated from Lehi High School. He met and married his sweetheart Thelda Marie Jones on June 25, 1954 in Salt Lake City. He and Thelda settled in Midvale in 1956. He worked for Kennecott for 31 years where he perfected his skills as a welder. He was a foreman for JEM Construction and also worked for Salt Lake Community College in the Building Construction Division. Darrell loved working with his hands and had an eye for detail. After his retirement from Kennecott he started making wooden models of cars, trucks and construction equipment replicas in great detail. He enjoyed being with his family camping, fishing, hunting and water skiing.
He is survived by his sweetheart Thelda, and his children Ken (Julie), Sandra Adams (Tom), Tammy Gardner (Russell), Cary (Natalie) and Jodi Ewell, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Darrell is preceded in death by his grandson Darrell Hugh Ewell, and his parents.
The family would like to thank our special angels from Quality Hospice, Alexis, Katrina and Becky for their loving care that they gave to our husband and dad.
A memorial service will be held on November 19, 2015 at the Midvale Fourth Ward, 7825 S. Olympus St., Midvale, UT at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. A viewing for family and friends will be at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. I am sorry for your loss Sandy, and family. I remember your dad, nice guy. I remember going camping with your family, and me and you and Tammy sat in the back in your camper awhile your mom and dad drove. I had a blast with you and your family. Good memories Sandy, Tammie, and Kenny. Take care and give your beautiful little mom a hug from me. A friend always. Jackie Barrett Jennings from the Midvale 2nd ward, and school.
