The Pugmire family is such a big part of my childhood. I can still hear the call for volunteers when the very loud siren blew for the fire department. Daryl was always out the door like a flash. I babysat the children when they were little, and always enjoyed them. Daryl was one of the many neighbors who came to my rescue when I went to the ground with dislocated knee caps. I was always going down and Daryl and Dick Petersen were my heroes who put me back together and picked me up. When I had corrective surgery on my knees Daryl helped getting my wheelchair in and out of the house and I know my parents appreciated his assistance Daryl was lucky to have 2 loving wives, (one at a time) They were devoted to him and the family. It was a hard time for them when Ramona became ill, but they rallied to her care. Also hard times when Steve became ill at such a young age, Cancer was too much a part of their family. I'm sure that Daryl's decline has been hard for Scott and Stacey, but knowing those kids I know they would do anything for their dad. Daryl's death is one more rite of passage from my youth. He so loved coaching the boys in little league and I'm sure they all learned a lot from him, not just about baseball, but life. I send my sincere sympathy to Scott and Stacey and their families. You are part of my heart and soul. Love you kids.

Uncle Daryl suffered many hardships in losing loved ones to cancer in his life. But he raised great kids and their family was always fun to be around growing up. He has a lot of catching up to do with those who passed before him. All of our best to Uncle Daryl’s family and God bless.
