David Boyd "Bo" Hatton

David Hatton Obituary

David Boyd "Bo" Hatton 1/25/1979 ~ 10/20/2008 Bo's life tragically ended on a beautiful fall day as a result of a car-motorcycle accident.Bo was born January 25, 1979 to David and Viki Hatton in Salt Lake City, Utah. He enjoyed a wonderful childhood with many friends, a loving family, and every opportunity imaginable to a young man. He participated in neighborhood games, the scouting program, swam on a swim team for many years, skied and snow boarded in all the canyons in Utah, and had the good fortune of being able to travel and vacation in many regions of the world. He was a very happy-go-lucky child that attracted many friends. He was a champion of the underdog and less fortunate. He always wore the cutest smile on his face. At the age of 17 Bo made some choices that would change his life in ways we are sure he could never imagine. He became a recreational drug user which soon escalated to a habit that he would struggle with the rest of his short life. However, before his passing he had enjoyed a year of sobriety. On September 20, 2003 Bo married Felicia Salaz, who he loved with all his heart. They had two children: Isabelle Shay Hatton and Lily Marie Hatton. Bo and Felicia later divorced but maintained an unbreakable bond until the day he died. Bo chose to be an organ donor and as a result was able to impact nine lives. Bo is survived by his parents; brother, Ben (Sharla), Tayden, Kamya and Vans; sister, Shanna; her children: Hailame and little Elijah, who Bo had a special love and relationship with. He always came through the front door calling for the "Dubbers". Also survived by his grandparents, who supported Bo through all his trials and successes, Boyd and Dorothy Williams, who will miss and grieve for him beyond belief; and David and Maretta Hatton; and aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him and will miss him. Our prayers and thanks go to all the dear people that loved and encouraged Bo throughout his life. He appreciated you so much and will hold you close in his heart. Bo's family feels that he would want fellow riders to know that wearing a motorcycle helmet may have saved his life, a lesson we know Bo would want passed on. The family will have a celebration of Bo's life on Sat., November 8, 2008, 12-2 p.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 2901 W. 9000 S. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.

Viki & Dave, I have not seen Bo for many years. I was lucky enough to meet him through Viki's sisters family. I will always remember him as a funny, caring, and charismatic guy. Even though we didn't keep in touch I always knew how he was doing due to my relationship with his cousin. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Bo's family and friends. I know everyone will remember him for all of his many great qualities.

Im so very sorry about your loss. I worked with Bo and I feel lucky to have know him. He had a huge heart, and was so thoughtful, always offering his help. When Bo spoke about his girls his face would just light up, He would want them to know and always remember, how much he loved them. Bo had a great smile and always found a way to make me laugh. Bo was a lover of life and will surely be missed.

My heart goes out to the Hatton family. I was stunned when I heard of Bo's passing. My favorite memories are when we were growing up, he was so fun to hang out with. He was always teasing and making me laugh. We would chase around the pool, I would usually end up soaked, watch movies, and play neighborhood games. Bo even drove all the way to Snow College to take me to my dance! He was always there for me to cheer me up and offer advice when I needed a friend. I regret that as we grew up we lost touch, I am so grateful that we were able to catch up recently and hang out a little. I am so happy that he enjoyed his last year of life in sobriety!! I love you all, my thoughts are with you at this tragic time.
Love,

Vicki and family:
I did not know Bo, but I am sure that he had his mother's strength, beauty, laughter, intelligence, and warmth. Your honest words about his struggle, as well as your admonition to wear helmets, reflect your tremendous courage and grace. May you find peace. Love, Lisa

Dave and Viki:

You two are so special to me and have been such wonderful friends. I am so sorry for your sorrow and would do anything to take away the pain you are feeling.

Michelle remembers Bo as the little boy she taught to clang his skiis together. On a ski trip when they were very little, Michelle and Bo worked their way to the front of the lift line (leaving us behind) and got on the ski lift together. She remembers teaching him how to clang his skiis together on the lift until one of his fell off. When we caught up with the two of them, they were waiting for the ski patrol to ski down the hill to retrieve his ski.

I love you both and will do anything you need.
