David Hite Obituary

David Jason Hite

1974-2025

Salt Lake City, Utah -David Jason Hite, age 51, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on March 5, 1974 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son to the late John Daniel Hite, Jr. and late Lucretia (Tish) Hite. He was raised in Bradford Woods, PA and is a graduate of North Allegheny High School and post-graduate of the Kiski School in Saltsburg, PA. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Horticulture.

He is survived by four older siblings, 11 nieces and nephews, and ten grand nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Jason". Uncle Jason worked in the construction business for over 20 years. He had built a reputation for turning outdoor residential suburban and urban spaces into unique and timeless outdoor living environments for his many clients. He was loved by his clients for his sensitivity and ability to create desired outcomes.

Uncle Jason's passion in addition to his job was adventure and photography. He skied, hiked, and scuba dived all over the world including destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. He documented all of his expeditions with his stunning photographs. Despite his extensive travels, the Utah mountains remained his favorite place in the world.

In his final few years, Uncle Jason's health was severely impacted by Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. Despite these challenges, he never stopped believing in his ability to recover. He chose to spend his retirement in Utah with his dog Bowie by his side. Utah was where Uncle Jason learned to ski as a child and where he enjoyed many family vacations. The mountains brought Uncle Jason peace.

A private ceremony will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Parkinson's Foundation.

Earlier today

So very sorry to learn of Jason,s passing. Many years since I have seen or heard about him, and sad as he is my godson. Always felt it was an honor to be asked by Tish and John to be his godmother when he was born. May he now rest in peace, free from pain, and be with his mother and father.
