Dennis Smith Obituary
A True Outdoorsman
Dennis Lynn Smith passed away on November 30, 2022 due to natural causes. Dennis loved to ski, fish, camp, hunt, listen to music and ride his Harley. He gave back country ski tours and worked for Wasatch Avalanche Control Center. He instilled love and respect for the outdoors in all of his children and grandchildren. He was a painter for over 40 years, working all over the Western United States and from 2001-2016 at the Salt Palace. He was a skilled handyman and carpenter. He was a great cook and could make a 5-star meal anywhere from almost anything. He was an audiophile with a monster stereo, extensive music library and an unmatched knowledge of all things music. He liked to watch Saturday morning cartoons, old Westerns, and James Bond. He believed in working hard, exploring far, telling stories and making friends along the way.
Dennis is survived by the 5 children he shared with Tona Burton: Jessica (Jon) Greensides, Tyler (Jessica) Smith, Judson (Trista) Smith, Sierra (Morgan) Hanks, and Echo Smith. He was grandfather to 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by seven siblings, especially his sister Pam (Ray) Loken, who helped care for him.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah.
