Elaine Singleton Obituary

Elaine Greenwood
Welch Singleton
1932 ~ 2016
Elaine Greenwood Welch Singleton, passed peacefully from the loving arms of her children and loved ones in this mortal life into the receiving arms of her long awaiting husband Billy, her parents, siblings and loved ones on Sunday, February 28, 2016. This courageous, optimistic angel was born June 18, 1932 to Ray P. Greenwood and Arvilla Hansen in Sandy Utah. She was the 4th of 5 living children and the second daughter to them. She attended Jordan High School where she met her sweetheart and the love of her life, Billy Donald Welch. They were later married and sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple November 17, 1950. Elaine and Billy were blessed with 5 children: Billy Gregory, Jeffrey Ray, Marshall Kay, Stephanie and Stacie Ann. They resided in Crescent Utah and later moved to Sandy where they continued to raise their family until the passing of Billy in 1970. She courageously carried on raising the family until July 1979 when she met and married Stanley Singleton. They brought two families together totaling 8 sons and 2 daughters. They served 4 missions for the LDS church; 3 in Nauvoo and 1 in Reno Nevada. They were married for 33 years before Stanley passed away in August 2012. Elaine continued to reside with her daughter Stephanie's family until her death. To her children she has been the most caring, loving and kind mother who will forever be cherished and honored.

I will forever cherish my experiences with and memories of my Aunt Elaine. The sound of her uplifting, happy laugh to her affectionate touch. I was truly blessed to be with her as she began her next adventure. A sweet experience I will never forget. I will miss her but she'll always feel close.
